RC-Timing 2025 is now available
This update contains the largest number of new features of any update in RC-Timing's 23-year history!
As always there are many items requested by the RC-Timing community, so thank you to everyone who has contributed ideas.
Final Sequencer
Used for custom sequencing of multi-leg finals, for example:
- 3-legs for A-Finals only, common in 1/10 off-road.
- Multi-leg Electric and single-leg Nitro finals, common in 1/8th.
See here for more details of the final sequencer.
Revert To Practice
You can now go back to running practice rounds at any point.
This is often needed during multi-day events, when a round of timed practice will be run at the start of each day.
Once the practice round is complete, Qualifying or Finals will resume where they left off.
General Features
- F5 Formula added.
- Force the screen and PC to stay on while RC-Timing is running.
- Personal Best file location can be set, e.g. to use a Dropbox folder.
- Remove all crystal stuff.
Meeting Setup
- Remember the last used folder on Load and Save file windows.
- Auto-select the correct final tie-break for BRCA on-road.
- Auto-select the number of counting final rounds (half plus one).
- When importing CSV files, if 'Import Abilities' is checked on the Settings screen, abilities are updated even for members who already have an ability.
Driver Entry and Race Sorting
- Class running order can be saved to the Archive so you don't have to set it for every meeting.
- Last Raced Date recorded for each member. Will be blank initially as previous versions of the software did not record this.
- Copy to New Member button when searching for drivers, e.g. to add a second class. No need to add "2wd" or "TC" to driver names for drivers to have multiple archive entries.
- Option to include drivers with no results when sorting on practice or qualifying results.
- Button to edit Combined Classes without re-sorting races, e.g. to edit names or overall list settings.
- When inserting a Timetable into Listing Notes, it will be added to the end of any existing text, unless some text is selected, in which case the selected text is replaced.
Racing
- Store original race results and allow restore in case of accidental corrections.
- 15 and 20-minute countdown announcements.
- Allow lap beeps to be turned off.
- Warning if starting races with no decoder, or AMB20 selected and drivers have PTs.
- Warning if starting racing when on battery power.
Results Output
- Option to combine grouped classes on overall results lists.
- Auto-broadcast of overall results after each race.
- For single-leg finals, broadcast a listing showing all final results.
- Show class name on every heat for combined classes. Previously only shown if a race had drivers from multiple classes.
- Option to auto-broadcast Personal Bests at the end of the meeting.
- Send drivers in start order (rather than car number order) to RC-Results live page.
Practice Screen
- Distinct colours for all 20 classes on Spectator Display.
- If a driver with a transponder is not booked in, pick the archive member that most recently used the transponder. This uses the new Last Raced Date field.
- Optional lap beeps.
Extra Info Displayed
- Show the Next Race on the Spectator Display and Race screen.
- Show the total number of Entries on the Drivers screen.
- Show the total number of Races on Race Sort screen.
- Indicate available COM ports on the Settings screen.
- Show RC-Results licence expiry date on Meeting and Settings screens.
Bugfixes and Usability
- Improvements to reduce sound delays and clipped sounds.
- Use correct stagger time for start lights.
- Don't clear Decoder settings boxes on errors.
- End of round results would fail to broadcast if a printing error occurred for end of round results.
- Ignore short first final lap in Consec3 stats.
- Practice spectator display would sometimes stop scrolling.
- Reauthenticate after 2 days to avoid "token expired" errors if RC-Timing remains open for long periods.
